Course Overview

Pro+Med (NZ) Ltd is a RNZCGP endorsed provider.

People trained to this level will have a practical working knowledge of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) as well as practical skills including airway control using a laryngeal mask airway (LMA) and the use of adrenaline for anaphylaxis.

This course is designed for General Practitioners, Basic Life Support Paramedics, Occupational Health Nurses, Experienced On-Site Medics and Dentists and Vaccinators.

This course is NZ Dental Association approved and Royal NZ College of General Practitioners approved.

Qualification

Successful learners receive Pro+Med (NZ) Ltd Immediate ACLS Level 1.

Course Outline

The course covers everything included in the Basic Life Support course plus:

  • Use of suction and insertion of oropharyngeal airways
  • Supraglottic airway device (eg. LMA) insertion during CPR
  • Management of anaphylaxis
  • Adult case simulations
