Course Overview

People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe hazards that may harm workers, the work environment, and organisations; explain health and safety requirements for hazard control; describe hazard control methods; and identify hazards and apply risk assessment procedures. 

Competence Achieved

Successful trainees receive NZQA Unit Standard 17602, Level 3, Credits 4 - Apply hazard identification and risk assessment procedures in the workplace

Course contents

Describe hazards that may harm workers, the work environment, and organisations.

Explain health and safety requirements for hazard control.

Describe hazard control methods.

Identify hazards and apply risk assessment procedures.

 

This unit expires 31 December 2021 and will be replaced by  unit standard 30265.
